Finally she took her steps on her own, yes am talking about my daughter, she walked without any support yesterday and I was on top of the world!!!! Obviously that called for a celebration, most of the time we go to Pirates of Grill for an outing and I love their CRISPY CORN, but as I am here in my home town these days I thought of trying it myself and it came out quite well. It’s a quick snack/starter and can be made very easily.

INGREDIENTS:-
Sweet Corn: 1 Cup Maid/Plain Flour: 3Tbsp Cornflour: 4 Tbsp Salt: to taste Pepper: to taste Green Chilly Sauce: 1 Tsp | Soya Sauce: 1 Tsp MSG: 1 Pinch Chopped Onion: 1 Medium Curry Leaves: A few Oil: to deep fry |
METHOD:-
- Make a thin paste using 1 Tbsp plain flour, 1 Tbsp Corn flour, salt,pepper,soya sauce, chilli sauce and MSG using water.
- Mix remaining flour and corn flour in a bowl with salt and pepper.
- Dip corn in the paste first, then in the dry flour mix so that it gets coated over corn nicely and now dust the extra flour in a strainer.
- Deep fry the coated corn in hot oil for 10-12 mins or until nice and crispy.
- Keep the wok cover while frying as corn can pop up.
- Add chopped onions and fried curry leaves to add flavour.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sauce or dip.
SERVING SUGGETIONS:-
I wanted to make a quick snack so skipped this step, but doing this will take the dish to another level.
- Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves after 30 secs,add chopped onion, soya sauce 1/2 tsp, chilly sauce 1/2 tsp, MSG and cook for another 30 secs. onions should still have a crunch in them.
- Now remove this from flame and mix with the fried corn & serve hot.
TIP:-
- The coating of flour over corn should not be very thick as it will not make the corns crispy.
