Carrot & Oats Kofta Curry (Non-Fried)

Hello Everyone, I was super excited to receive this gift hamper from Quaker Oats India Team, for doing a few post on their products (Multi-Grain Sago Pancakes & Quaker Oats Plus “Product Review). It feels awesome when your hard work gets appreciated, Thank a lot Guyzzz!!!

I totally enjoyed making this recipe and eating as well. It’s very easy to make, but that doesn’t compromise on taste at all. So, keeping things as healthy as possible, sharing with you guyzz, Carrots and Oats Kofta Curry!!!

INGREDIENTS:-

For Koftas
Carrots: 2 Finely Grated
Potato: 1 Medium Boiled
Oats: 1/2 Cup
Salt: as per taste
Red Chili Powder: as per taste
Garam Masala: 1/4 Tsp
Amchur Powder (Dry Mango Powder): 1/4 Tsp
Coriander Powder: 1 Tsp
Corn Flour: 1/2 – 1 Tbsp
For Gravy
Onion: 2 Medium
Tomato: 2 Medium
Green Chilly : 1
Ginger Garlic Paste: 1 Tsp
Oil: 1-2 Tbsp
Cumin Seeds: 1/2 Tsp
Salt & Red Chili Powder: to taste
Kasoori Methi: 1 tbsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 Tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/4 – 1/2 Tsp
Amchur Powder (Dry Mango Powder): 1/2 Tsp
Milk: 1/2 Cup
Water: 1 – 1 1/2 Cup

SERVINGS:-

This quantity will serve 2-3 people.

METHOD:-

Koftas:

  • Sauté grated carrots for 2-3 mins in a non-stick pan.
  • Transfer this in a mixing bowl and add the rest of the ingredients mentioned under Koftas, mash properly and form into equal size balls.
  • Cook the koftas from both sides, in the  appam pan with a few drops of oil.

For Gravy:

  • Grind together onion, tomatoes and green chilly.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, when it crackles add ginger garlic paste and cook for 30 sec.
  • Now add the ground paste and cook covered for 10-15 mins or till water dries up and oil is separated.
  • Add spices and mix well.
  • Now add water and cook for another 4-5 mins.
  • Switch off the flame, let it cool down for 2-3 mins.
  • Add milk, stirring the gravy continuously, then switch on the flame and cook for 2-3 mins more.

To Assemble:

  • Pour the gravy in the serving dish, place koftas over it and pour some gravy on top.
  • Serve hot with Rice or Chapatti!!!
