A Marwari family Sunday lunch would usually comprise of this delicacy.. Very popular Rice Dish however, rather than following the regular recipe I did add a twist and made it more relishing. Please do try!!
SERVINGS:-
This quantity will serve 2 people.
INGREDIENT:-
1 Cup Boiled Rice ½ Cup tomato puree ½ Chopped onions 1 tbsp green chilly garlic ginger paste 1 tsp Turmeric Powder 1 tsp Red chilly Powder 1/2 Tsp Lime Juice | 1 Tsp sugar ½ Tsp Mustard Seeds ½ Tsp Cumin Seeds 2-3 Curry Leaves Salt to Taste Some Bhujiya(Sev) and Fresh Coriander to garnish. |
METHOD:-
- Boil the Rice, rinse it well and keep it aside.
- In a pan take about 1 tbsp of oil and add the mustard , cumin seeds and Curry leaves.
- Once it splutters then add the turmeric powder, onions and green chilly ginger paste.
- Cook the onions well. Once it is cooked till it turns golden brown. Remove from flame and keep it aside.
- In another pan, put some oil and add the tomato puree to it. Stir well on medium flame for 2-3 mins.
- Then add Red Chilly powder and sugar to it.
- Once the oil starts separating and you know it is cooked well mix the rice and the onion mixture to it.
- Cook it for 2-3 mins and add the salt bit of lime juice.
- Once well cooked garnish it with Bhujiya and Coriander and serve it hot!!
