Stuffed Soya Shaami Kebabs (Video Recipe)

Hello friends, presenting to you guyzzz a super healthy snacking idea with some yummy innovative twist. Quick and simple to make, but a very impressive starter for any party that you host, prepare this at your home and just be ready to hear those lovely compliments : ) Stuffed Soya Shaami Kebabs!!!!

INGREDIENTS:-

For Outer Coating:
Chana Daal: 1/2 Cup Soaked for 2 hrs
Soya Chunks: 1/2 Cup Boiled in salted water
Boiled & Mashed Potato: 1 Medium
Ghee (Clarified Butter): 2 Tbsp
Shahi Jeera (Black Cumin): 1 Tsp
Onion: 1 Medium Chopped
Garlic: 2 Cloves
Ginger: 1/2 Inch
Salt: to Taste
Red Chilly Powder: to taste
Curry Powder: 1 Tbsp
Amchur Powder: 1/2 Tsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 Tsp
Coriander Powder: 1/2 Tbsp
Green Chilly Sauce: 1 Tsp
Oil: to Shallow Fry
Water: 1 1/4 Cups all together
For Stuffing:
Grated Paneer/Cottage Cheese: 3/4 Cup
Chopped Raisins: 1 Tbsp
Salt & Red Chilli Powder: to taste
Amchur Powder: 1/4 Tsp
Garam Masala: 1/4 Tsp
Powdered Sugar: 1/4 Tsp

SERVINGS:-

This quantity will make 10-11 Kebabs.

VIDEO DEMONSTRATION:-

METHOD:-

  • Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, and when it crackles add chopped onion, ginger & garlic.
  • Once the onions get a little brown, add Chana daal, soya chunks sauté for 30 secs.
  • Add all the spices motioned under “outer coating” to the Chana daal.
  • Add 3/4 cup of water and cook this with closed lid till the Chana daal is cooked and water is evaporated.
  • Transfer this to a mixing bowl and let it cool down for 5-10 mins.
  • Now grind this mixture to a paste using water as required (try to add minimum water).
  • Transfer this to the mixing bowl again, add mashed potato and combine well.
  • Outer coating is ready.
  • Now for the stuffing mix all the ingredients mentioned under “stuffing” in a bowl.
  • Take small portion of the prepared Chana daal mixture in hand and flatten it with your palms.
  • Now take a little stuffing and keep in the center, close from all the sides and form this into a kebabs shape.
  • Shallow fry these kebabs from both the side till crispy.
  • Serve hot with the dipping of your choice.

SPECIAL TIP:-

  • One can deep fry these kebabs as well.
  • Add 2 tbsp of roasted besan (Gram flour) or Cornflour if it doesn’t bind well and breaks while frying.
